How can we be faithful to our God in a world that increasingly rejects him? How should God's people, as the cultural minority, engage the world? Is living by faith even worth the cost? What is the source of our courage in the face of increasing conflict? These are the ever-growing questions of our own day as followers of Jesus Christ. But these were also the questions of God's people in the book of Daniel. The message of Daniel is that our sovereign God overrules evil and strengthens his people to overcome faithfully. Our study of Daniel will deliver confidence and strength to each of us as we seek to bring God's grace and truth to this valley and the world.

Sermons In This Series

1. Dare to Believe (Daniel 1-2)
During this four week study of the Book of Daniel, Pastor Jonathan talks about how to live Godly in an ungodly culture. As culture changes, discover that God doesn't.

Reading Plan:
Monday – Daniel 1
Tuesday – Isaiah 43:2-5
Wednesday – Proverbs 16:7
Thursday – Daniel 2:1-23
Friday – James 1:1-18
Saturday – Daniel 2:24-49

2. Dare To Stand (Daniel 3)
As we look at the life of Daniel and his friends, we'll see how they lived out their other-worldly citizenship while navigating the challenges of Babylon, the military and cultural center of the world in 600 years prior to the birth of Jesus Christ, and apply biblical principles to life in today's society.

Reading Plan:
Monday – Daniel 3:1-18 & Philippians 3:17-4:1
Tuesday – Psalm 27
Wednesday – Daniel 3:19-30
Thursday – Psalm 34
Friday – Psalm 91
Saturday – Ephesians 1:15-23

3. Dare to Speak (Daniel 4-5)
Daniel is an example to us as Christians of how we are to boldly speak truth into a culture full of lies. We can stand boldly on the word of God and be salt and light in our pagan culture like Daniel was.

Reading Plan:
Monday – Daniel 4:1-18
Tuesday – Daniel 4:19-27 & Isaiah 55:6-7
Wednesday – Matthew 5:13-16
Thursday – Daniel 4:28-37
Friday – Psalm 33
Saturday – Daniel 5

4. Dare To Suffer (Daniel 6)
Daniel lived in an unholy land. Although he held favor with the Babylonian rulers, he was asked to act contrary to his faith. When Daniel refused, he was persecuted. Christians all over the world are persecuted for their faith. Even in America, Christians are asked to act contrary to how God would have them live. How will you respond?

Reading Plan:
Monday – Daniel 6:1-9
Tuesday – Daniel 6:10-18
Wednesday – Daniel 6:19-24
Thursday – Daniel 6:25-28  & Matthew 5:10
Friday – 1 Peter 5:8-11
Saturday – Romans 8
