My Story, His Glory
Part 1: Series Introduction
Mark 1:15
What are we doing in this series?
#1. We are going to be looking through the Gospels and the book of Acts to see stories of salvation.
#2. We are going to be hearing from members of our church to hear how they received Jesus and the change in their life that has happened since then.
#3. We are going to be getting real honest asking: Do you have a story?
There is no greater need that you have than to know for sure that you are saved.
The Importance of Salvation Stories:
Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ 23Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness.’… Matthew 7:21-23
“Repent and believe the good news” Mark 1:15b
What is the Gospel?
1. The fact of sin (Romans 3:23),
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23
2. The penalty of sin (Romans 6:23)
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23
3. Jesus’ payment for sin (Romans 5:8),
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
4. The requirement to repent and trust Jesus personally (Romans 10:9-10),
9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Romans 10:9-10
