Who they are (1 Timothy 3:1-7) #1. They aspire to the office. #2. They are above reproach. #3. They are the husband of one wife. #4. They are self-controlled #5. They are sensible, prudent, and reasonable. #6. They are respectable & honorable #7. They are hospitable #8. They are skilled in teaching #9. They are not addicted to alcohol #10. They are not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome #11. They are not lovers of money #12. They are leaders of well-ordered homes. #13. They are mature believers #14. They have good reputations even with the outside world.

How they do it (1 Peter 5:1-5) #1. They elder eagerly #2. They elder by example #3. They elder with patience.
Take It Further #1. Spend some time this week to study the role of elder in the church by reading through 1Peter 5:1-5, Hebrews 13:15-18, Titus 1:5-9 and 1 Timothy 3:1-7.
